Microsoft Buying Nokia's Devices & Mapping Services for $7.17 Billion : What to expect ?

Well, you always knew it, didn't You? It was certainly a matter of time for this to happen.
Yes, Microsoft is finally acquiring its long time Windows Phone partner, Nokia. Rumors & speculations have always been there regarding this Deal.  With Nokia holding More than 90% of the Windows Phone market currently, this Deal, I would say, will prove to be beneficial for Both companies. As, being under Microsoft it would help Nokia to revive its Financial stability, and, on the Other side, Microsoft to move a Step Forward towards its transition of being a Devices & Services Co.

So, what's Next?

1. Probably, there are chances  that, Microsoft(along with Nokia) being the Major manufacturer in future, would force other Manufacturers to not make any more Windows Phones("None" better than being "Niche"), and Microsoft would alone be selling them all (Just like Apple).

2. With, Nokia's services coming under the shadow of MSFT, we can expect a huge enhancement on the technologies, especially From HERE Mapping technology, as it might get merged with Bing maps.
Thus, Helping Microsoft to boost their Navigation Services to a great extent.

3. Since, Nokia being a huge & sought after Brand, I Don't see Microsoft changing the brand/tag on the Future Phones, and would still remain our very dear "NOKIA".

4. Expect a much better integration of the WP Software with the Hardware.

5. CEO Stephen Elop would now play the role of  Executive Vice President of the Devices & Services panel for Nokia.

6. As per the deal, Nokia will provide a 10-year non-exclusive licence to its patents to Microsoft.

The deal is still subject to shareholder and regulatory approval. And, would be Officially sealed by First Quarter of 2014.

I personally feel, its a step in the right direction, for both the companies & Hopes are high from the Upcoming offerings.
